4 New Honda Hybrid Cars Lined Up For India: City Facelift To Prelude
Japanese car manufacturer Honda has been dormant for a very long time in India. They currently have the Amaze, City, and Elevate in their India lineup. With rising competition, Honda is now working on updating its existing models and also introducing new technologies. As they don’t have diesel engines anymore, the future of Honda cars is likely going to be either hybrids or EVs. Here we have a list of four such Honda cars that will soon be coming to India with hybrid technology.
While Honda will be launching the next-generation City sedan in 2028, the brand also plans to update the existing model with a facelift. The facelifted version of the City was spotted testing in the past, and based on the images, it looks like the upcoming sedan will get only minor cosmetic changes.
Along with the regular version, the e:HEV or the strong hybrid version will also receive the same updates. The City facelift hybrid will come with the same 1.5-litre Atkinson Cycle petrol engine, which is paired with a strong hybrid system. It is currently the only sedan in this segment to come with a strong hybrid system.

Honda currently has the Elevate as the only SUV in its lineup. It is a highly competitive segment, and in order to keep up with the rising competition, Honda has finally decided to introduce a hybrid version of the SUV. The SUV was also spotted testing last year.
It looks like Honda will continue to offer the SUV in both NA petrol and hybrid versions. There were reports that Honda is currently working on a more efficient, lighter, and cost-efficient hybrid system. It remains to be seen whether Honda will offer the new hybrid system or continue with the proven system already being offered with the City sedan.

As part of its expansion plans, Honda is expected to launch a premium SUV, the ZR-V, which is also known as the HR-V in the North American and Chinese markets. It is a C-segment SUV and will be positioned below the CR-V.
The updated version of the ZR-V, which is expected to come to India as a CBU by late 2026 or early 2027, will come with a 2.0-litre NA Atkinson Cycle petrol engine paired with an e-CVT gearbox. The upcoming ZR-V uses the latest hybrid system that Honda is offering in its other models.
It is a premium SUV and will come with features like Google Assistant, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Honda Sensing (ADAS), a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, multi-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel wrapped in leather, heated seats, a 360-degree camera, USB ports, an auto-dimming frameless rearview mirror, an electric gear selector, a metal deceleration selector, drive modes, and more.

Last on this list is another expensive Honda that is expected to make its way to Indian shores this year. This is a 2-door coupe and is going to be one of the premium Hondas to come to India. It is likely to become the flagship model for Honda India. The Prelude will be powered by a hybrid petrol engine generating around 200 bhp.
