New Delhi: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Bengaluru. A four-year-old girl, a native of Assam, had gone missing from home two days ago. On Saturday evening, he was found dead in a deserted area of Electronic City. Seeing the condition of the body, the police suspect murder followed by sexual assault.

The girl lived with her parents in a temporary hut near Vittasandra on the outskirts of Bengaluru. His father is a construction worker. On Thursday evening the girl went out to play, but did not return home. The family lodged a missing complaint at the Electronic City police station on Friday morning.
The girl’s body was found in a deserted eucalyptus grove in Bolugutta area on Saturday evening. Police officials said the condition of the body clearly indicated that she was sexually assaulted and then murdered.

DCP M Narayan of Bengaluru Police said that an FIR has been registered in the case under sections of Protection from Child Sexual Abuse Act (POCSO) and murder. Forensic team and senior officials inspected the spot and evidence has been collected.
Police have started investigating the CCTV footage. Three suspects have been detained and their interrogation is ongoing. Special investigation teams have been formed so that the criminals can be caught as soon as possible.
