Yashasvi Jaiswal broke a unique 45 year old record with a stormy fifty, becoming the second cricketer in the world to do so in 147 years.

First Indian to hit 30 sixes in a year

During this innings, Jaiswal completed 30 sixes in Test cricket in the year 2024. He has become the first player from India to hit 30 or more sixes in Tests in a year. Jaiswal's performance in the year 2024 has been excellent, he has scored 1084 runs in 19 innings of 10 Tests at an average of 60.22. In which he has hit 32 sixes.
He is the second cricketer in the world after New Zealand's Brendon McCullum to hit 30 or more sixes in a year in the 147-year Test history.

Gundappa Vishwanath's record broken

Jaiswal has scored 1084 Test runs in the year 2024 in India, which is the highest Test runs scored by an Indian player in a year in India. He surpassed Gundappa Vishwanath, who had scored 1047 Test runs in India in the year 1979.
