Umpired in 5 T-20 World Cups, now this Pakistani umpire announced his retirement.

Pakistani umpire and three-time World Cricket Umpire of the Year award, Aleem Dar has announced his retirement. Dar will step down from umpiring after the conclusion of Pakistan's domestic season. Dar, 56, is a member of the ICC elite panel of umpires serving from 2003 to 2023.“All great journeys must eventually come to an end and the time has come for me to focus completely on my social and charitable work. My hospital project and other initiatives are very close to my heart,” Dar was quoted as saying by the sports star. And it requires my complete dedication and focus. Umpiring has been my life for almost 25 years and I have had the privilege of umpiring some of the most prestigious matches of this generation throughout my career. We strive to maintain the highest standards of spirit and it is an honor to work with some of the best match officials in the world.”

Let us tell you that before starting his umpiring career, Dar played 17 first-class matches and 18 List A matches for Pakistan from 1986 to 1998. He then made his debut as a first-class umpire in 1999, officiating in Pakistan's premier domestic competition, the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Dar has umpired in a total of 145 Test matches, 231 One Day International (ODI), 72 T20 International matches (T20) and five T20 World Cups.

Mukh has been an umpire.

Currently he is active in the Pakistan Elite Panel and is one of the four Pakistani umpires in the ICC International Panel. This allows him to umpire in One Day International and T20 matches. Along with this, Dar has also umpired in five T20 World Cups, which shows how experienced he is and his departure will mark the end of an era of umpiring.
