5 dead bodies recovered from a rented house in Kochi, three generations of the same family perished together

Kochi: A very sad and heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Kochi city of Kerala, which shocked the entire area. Not only the local people but also the police are shocked after the bodies of five people of the same family were found in a rented house. In the initial investigation, it seems to be a case of mass suicide, in which two women and three small children lost their lives.

This incident took place in a rented house in Vaduthala area, where bodies of five people were found on Saturday. The deceased include 58-year-old Srikumari, her 36-year-old daughter Ashwathi Nair and Ashwathi’s three children. The children were two sons (14 and 4 years old) and a 2 year old daughter. This family is said to be originally a resident of Vilappilsala in Thiruvananthapuram.

The family had stayed in Kochi for treatment

Police investigation has revealed that this family was living in Kochi since the month of February. His elder son was undergoing treatment in a nearby private hospital. For this reason the entire family was living here in a rented house. According to the information, they were going to leave this house soon, but before that this painful incident happened.

Cable operator revealed the secret

The incident came to light when a cable TV operator reached home for work. When he looked inside through the window, he was shocked to see the scene inside. He saw that two women were hanging. After this he immediately called the people nearby and informed the police.

Suicide note found, investigation underway

On receiving the information, Ernakulam North Police reached the spot and started investigation. A suicide note has also been recovered from the house, which has further strengthened the suspicion that it is a case of suicide. Police suspect that the women first poisoned the children and then hanged themselves. However, this will be confirmed only after post-mortem and forensic investigation.

Police looking for reasons

At present the police is trying to find out why this family took such a big step. The suicide note is being investigated and every aspect is being taken into consideration. It is possible that financial constraints or the pressure of long-term treatment could be the reason behind this incident. However, the police have not yet reached any conclusion.
