Another streaming platform to release Aju Verghese’s bone-chilling Malayalam drama online

Phoenix OTT Release Date: Aju Varghse’s Malayalam horror movie Phoenix is all set to land on yet another streaming platform in the coming days.

Helmed by talented filmmaker Vishnu Bharathan, the film arrived on the big screens last year on November 17th, 2023 & enjoyed a decent run at the Box office. From its gripping narrative to the exceptional acting prefromences of its lead cast, the supernatural drama, throughout its theatrical run, was hailed by the cinegoers for one or the other reason.

Eventually, after wrapping up a rather successful box office journey, Phoenix made its much-awaited digital debut on Amazon Prime Video where it also managed to fare well with the audiences in no time. Now, the latest news is that another popular OTT platform Manorama Max has also purchased the Anoop Menon starrer film’s digital rights and is all geared up to roll it out to the subscribers by the fall of October 2024.

However, the exact premiere date of the paranormal entertainer on Manorama Max is yet to be unveiled by the streamer.

Plot of the Film

John, a lawyer by profession, with the hope of starting a fresh & peaceful life, relocates with his family into a mysterious house located near a seashore in Thuruthikkadavu. However,  just a few days after moving inside their new home, bizarre things start occurring with John and his family, with his beloved youngest child suffering the most.

To make matters even worse, John & his wife also start receiving mysterious letters with the name “Freedy” written on them as the addressee. Alerted, terrorized & concerned, the guy then hires a priest and together, they learn that the property in which John’s family is residing has been built over a graveyard. What happens next and how John leaves no stoner unturned in saving himself and his loved ones from this otherworldly threat is the remaining story of the film.

Cast and Production

Phoenix, in its star cast, features Aju Varghese, Chandhunadh, Anoop Menon, Nilja K. Baby, Abhirami Bose, Bhagath Manuel, and Baby Aavni amongst others essaying the main characters. Rinish K. N. has bankrolled the thrilling romantic horror film under the banner of Front Row Productions.
