Lucca’s World OTT Release: Lucca’s World entails the story of a family that lives with their youngest son who’s suffering from Cerebral Palsy. It’s an aspiring tale of the struggles a loved one faces when one of their own is struggling in life.
The series was directed by Mariana Chenillo. The cast features a charismatic selection of Bárbara Mori, Juan Pablo Medina, Julián Tello, and Ari Brickman.
Lucca’s World is set to stream on 31st January 2025 on the streaming platform Netflix.
Plot
The trailer starts with a couple who are excited to have their child. The anticipation is all in the air around them. However, the birth of their child comes with a piece of devastating news. Their child, Lucca suffers from Cerebral Palsy.
Cerebral palsy is a neurological disorder that affects a person’s movement and muscle coordination. The series explores the struggles of his family as they try desperately to find a cure for him. Lucca’s condition impacts his life in ways with large consequences and their hope of finding a cure seems to diminish.
They spend each day and night by their son’s side, monitoring him and ensuring he is comfortable and well.
Their money source is soon depleting as well and they find themselves at a dead end. However, a miracle seems to come as a doctor in India suggests an experimental treatment that could cure their son’s condition.
The news delights the family, but they face the dilemma of a lack of funds. Somehow they do whatever they can to help their son. They prepare to go to India, where people welcome them warmly and show them regard.
They start the experimental treatment as soon as they bring their son to the hospital.
The husband and wife meet with the doctor and thank him for his effort in trying to reach out to them and help.
