An amazing record was made in the first innings of India-New Zealand Pune Test, such a feat happened on Indian soil after 55 years.

India vs New Zealand Pune Test: The Indian cricket team was all out for 156 runs in the first innings of the second Test being played against New Zealand at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. In the first innings for New Zealand, spinner Mitchell Santner took 7 wickets for 53 runs and Glenn Phillips took 2 wickets for 25 runs. Apart from this, fast bowler Tim Southee took 1 wicket. The Kiwi team took a huge lead of 103 runs over India.

Earlier, after winning the toss and coming to bat first, the New Zealand team was all out for 259 runs. In which spinner Washington Sundar took 7 wickets and Ravichandran Ashwin took 3 wickets for India.

Meaning, a total of 19 wickets were taken by the spinner bowlers in both the innings.

This is the third time in the Test played in India that spinners have taken 19 or more wickets in the first two innings. In the first two innings of the Test match played between India and England in Kanpur in 1952, all 20 wickets were taken by spinners. After this, in the Test played between India and New Zealand in Nagpur in 1969, spin bowlers took 19 wickets in the first two innings.
