5Kg LPG cylinder will be available by showing ID, need for address proof eliminated
Iran crisis: Amidst the increasing tension in the Middle East, the central government has taken a big decision to provide relief to the common people. Now address proof will not be required to buy a 5 kg LPG cylinder.
Cylinder will be available only by showing ID
According to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, now 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder can be purchased from the nearest distributor only by showing a valid ID card. This decision will especially benefit migrant laborers and those who do not have any proof of local address.
No need to panic, there is enough stock
The government has made it clear that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel and LPG in the country. Around 5.7 lakh small cylinders have been sold since March 23, including more than 71 thousand sales in a single day. The government has appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumors and not to make panic purchases.
Steps taken to maintain supply
To maintain stable energy supply, the government has increased domestic LPG production and refineries are being run at full capacity. Also, hospitals and essential services are being given priority.
Alternatives are also getting a boost
To balance the demand, the government is promoting options like PNG, kerosene and electric cooking. Instructions have also been given to the states to provide new PNG connections expeditiously.
strictness on black marketing
The government has increased surveillance to prevent hoarding and black marketing. So far, more than 3,700 raids have been conducted and the licenses of the distributors involved in irregularities have been suspended. The government says that the situation is being constantly monitored and the common people will not be allowed to face any problem.
