66-year drought ends…Jammu and Kashmir beat Karnataka to win Ranji Trophy 2025-26

Ranji Trophy 2025-26 : Jammu and Kashmir ends long drought. In the final of the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy, they defeated Karnataka to win the trophy. Jammu and Kashmir dominated the match at Hubli and the batting was impressive. The match remained a draw, but Jammu and Kashmir took the lead in the first innings and were declared the winners. It was a historic match for Jammu and Kashmir. The team won the Ranji Trophy for the first time in 66 years.

Jammu and Kashmir batting first in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy. He scored 584 runs in the first innings. Shubham Pundir played a brilliant innings of 121 runs. Hasan (88 runs), skipper Paras Dogra (70 runs), Abul Samad (61 runs), Kanhaiya Wadhawan (70 runs) and Sahil Lotra (72 runs) also contributed. Jammu and Kashmir had taken a big lead. Karnataka, perhaps unable to handle the pressure, were bowled out for 293 runs.

Mayank Agarwal played a brilliant innings of 160 runs but was not supported by any other player. Jammu and Kashmir had the lead in the first innings and as per the rules, if the final match is tied, the team leading in the first innings is declared the winner. Jammu and Kashmir declared their second innings at 342 for 4. The match was declared a draw and Jammu and Kashmir won the trophy.

Aqib Nabi won the hearts of the fans with his explosive bowling throughout the tournament. The explosive fast bowler took 60 wickets in 10 matches at an impressive average of 12.56. He was the highest wicket-taker in the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy, taking five wickets seven times. After the victory of Jammu and Kashmir, he was selected as the man of the series.
