IPL 2026, Abhishek Sharma Record: World number-1 T20I batsman Abhishek Sharma created history in the 17th match of IPL 2026 on Saturday (April 11). Playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Abhishek played a explosive inning of 74 runs in 28 balls against Punjab Kings. In this innings he hit 5 fours and 8 sixes. He defeated the Punjab bowlers fiercely and scored a stormy half-century in just 18 balls. With this, Abhishek has made a big record in his name in IPL. He has become the first batsman to achieve such a feat in IPL history.

In this match played in Mullanpur, Abhishek Sharma, who came to open, gave a strong start to SRH and batted brilliantly and played an excellent inning of 74 runs in 28 balls. SRH scored 105 runs in powerplay

In this match, Abhishek made a partnership of 120 runs with Travis Head for the first wicket. Head was out after scoring 38 runs in 23 balls, while Abhishek Sharma played a stormy inning of 74 runs. On the basis of the excellent innings of these two, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 105 runs in the powerplay itself. SRH has achieved this feat thrice so far in IPL history, whereas no other team has done this more than once.
