Indian team Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh, while making a prediction before the mega auction of IPL 2025, has named the 6 players whom the Mumbai Indians franchise can retain. Harbhajan believes that MI will help his team's former captain Rohit Sharma (Rohit Sharma) will also be retained.
Star Sports has shared a video of the former Indian team cricketer from its official X account in which he was seen giving his opinion on the retention pick of Mumbai Indians. He said, 'Mumbai Indians is a team which has not played very well in the last two-three years. That is the champion team, it has been a very tremendous team and as far as I know, they will definitely think of building a team for the future. However, this does not mean that experience will not be seen in MI this year.
He further said, 'Last year Hardik Pandya got the captaincy, so I think he will definitely be retained. Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav will also be retained. Will Rohit Sharma be retained? He has just come after winning the T20 World Cup as captain. So according to me he will also be retained. So these are the four players. Apart from that, Tilak Verma should be retained. He can make Mumbai Indians win many matches in the coming times. If one more player is to be retained then Nehal Vadhera should be retained as an uncapped player.
It is noteworthy that Mumbai Indians has won the champion title five times under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, however, despite this, in IPL 2024, MI snatched the responsibility of captaincy from Rohit Sharma and handed it over to Hardik Pandya. Despite such a big change, last season was a nightmare for Mumbai Indians and they won only 4 out of 14 matches and were at the bottom of the points table.
