7 New Nissan Cars And SUVs For India: Tekton To Patrol
Nissan in India has started a new chapter, and as part of its new strategy, the company is planning several new launches in the market. The Nissan Gravite was one of them. As we already know, Nissan and Renault are working together in India, and most of their products share platforms and technology. Here, we have a list of seven such new Nissan SUVs that are expected to launch in the Indian market.
Tekton is going to be Nissan’s version of the Duster for the Indian market. It has been spotted testing on multiple occasions, and this is not the first time Nissan has done something like this. Before Tekton, Nissan used to offer the Terrano in the market, which was also a rebadged version of the old Duster.
This time around, Nissan will be making significant changes to the exterior to ensure the SUV gets a distinct identity. The Tekton is expected to feature a Nissan Patrol-inspired exterior design, with a large grille, Patrol-like machined alloy wheels, LED headlamps, tail lamps, and more.
The cabin might be similar to what we saw in the Duster and will come with features like a panoramic sunroof, electric and ventilated seats, a large driver-centric touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster, and so on. The Tekton will be offered with the same set of engines as the Duster, including a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, a 1.3-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.8-litre strong hybrid engine.
After the Tekton, Nissan will also expand its SUV lineup with a 7-seater SUV. It will be based on Renault’s Boreal SUV, and just like the Duster, it will also be based on the same platform.

The Tekton-based 7-seater SUV will be slightly longer, taller, and wider than the standard Tekton. It remains to be seen whether Nissan will carry forward the same Patrol-inspired design to the seven-seater SUV or not.
The Nissan Magnite has been the only model in the Japanese carmaker’s Indian lineup until recently. The Magnite has tried its best to carry the brand on its shoulders for a long time. It is finally time for Nissan to consider offering the Magnite a much-needed generation update.

Recently, Renault showcased its new or revised RGEP platform for entry-level cars, and it looks like Nissan might use this new platform for the next-generation Magnite to make it more appealing to buyers in this segment.
It is expected to be offered with a twin-cylinder CNG setup mounted under the body, along with turbo-petrol and naturally aspirated petrol engine options. Transmission choices will likely include manual, AMT, and CVT gearbox options.
Nissan recently launched the Gravite in the market. We all know that the Gravite is a rebadged version of the Triber. Renault has also announced that it will soon update the Triber with the new RGEP platform, which would allow the inclusion of a much-awaited turbo-petrol engine, along with a factory-fitted underbody CNG tank.

If the Triber receives these updates, the Nissan Gravite is also expected to get them eventually. The Gravite will not only get the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine but could also receive an underbody CNG tank paired with the turbo-petrol engine.
Renault recently showcased its all-new sub-4 metre SUV concept, the Bridger. It is a boxy-looking SUV, and Renault will be developing it in India for both domestic and international markets.

It will be based on a new platform, and Renault aims to launch it by next year. It is being developed as a true multi-energy vehicle, which means it will be offered with petrol, turbo-petrol, hybrid, and even EV powertrains.
Once Renault launches this model, Nissan is expected to introduce its own version of the Bridger under a different name, likely with a distinct exterior design.

As mentioned above, the Bridger concept is being developed as a multi-energy vehicle, which means an EV version of the same SUV will also be launched. Just like other models, Nissan is expected to follow Renault’s strategy and launch its own version of the EV in the market.
Finally, a Nissan that has nothing to do with Renault. Recently, reports have suggested that Nissan is planning to launch its flagship luxury SUV, the Patrol, in the Indian market.

There are already some celebrities who have privately imported the Nissan Patrol, but it is not officially available in India. If launched, it will come as a CBU and will compete with models like the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 in the segment.
The Patrol is available with a 3.8-litre naturally aspirated V6 engine and a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine.
