The 7-seater SUV segment is something that has been ruled by the Toyota Fortuner for decades. It is not like there are no alternatives available in the market. For some reason, none of these alternative options are as appealing to customers as the Fortuner. When compared to the Fortuner, some of these are value for money too. We also have a new entrant in this segment, the MG Majestor, increasing the competition. Brands have now started offering discounts of up to Rs 5 lakh on these 7-seater SUVs.
Skoda Kodiaq
This is currently the most expensive or the flagship SUV from Skoda in the Indian market. It is actually a well-balanced product that offers power along with premium features and space. As per the reports, Skoda is currently offering a maximum discount of Rs 5 lakh on the Kodiaq SUV. This is applicable on the MY25 models and includes a dealer discount of up to Rs 3.5 lakh on select variants, corporate or loyalty benefits of up to Rs 1,00,000, and an exchange bonus of Rs 50,000.
The Skoda Kodiaq is currently available with a petrol engine only. It uses a 2.0-litre TSI engine that generates 202 PS and 320 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 7-speed DSG, and power is sent to all four wheels. The price for the Kodiaq starts at Rs 39.99 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to Rs 45.96 lakh, ex-showroom.
Jeep Meridian
One of the least popular Jeeps in the Indian market, the Jeep Meridian is actually a stretched-out version of the once-popular Compass SUV. It was launched in the market a couple of years ago but, due to several reasons, including the price, customers have not found it appealing.
The Jeep Meridian is a premium SUV with features like ADAS, seat ventilation, a touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera, and more. The SUV is currently being offered with a discount of up to Rs 3.25 lakh. This includes a consumer discount of Rs 1.65 lakh, a corporate discount of Rs 1.30 lakh, and a special offer of Rs 30,000. The corporate discount is applicable only on MY2024 models.
The Meridian is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It is available with an automatic transmission and 4×4. The price for the Jeep Meridian starts at Rs 23.33 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to Rs 37.82 lakh, ex-showroom.
MG Gloster
Another 7-seater SUV that has not been doing well in this segment despite offering several premium features. MG is offering a maximum discount of Rs 4 lakh on the Gloster SUV across all variants. It includes a cash discount of Rs 3.5 lakh and a Rs 50,000 exchange bonus.
The SUV is available with diesel engine options. In the lower variants, the Gloster uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that generates 158 bhp and 374 Nm of torque. In the higher variant, it uses a twin-turbocharged 2.0-litre diesel engine that generates 213 bhp and 478 Nm of torque.
The price for the MG Gloster starts at Rs 38.33 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes all the way up to Rs 43.16 lakh, ex-showroom.
