Mercedes-Benz has made a comeback in India with the CLA. But this time the company has come to India with its electric car. After launching petrol and diesel models in 2020, the company has now entered India with its cheapest (entry-level) electric sedan. The new electric CLA has been launched in three different variants. Variants and Price

Mercedes Benz CLA EV Design

It features a sleek coupe design, which has been designed with airflow in mind. The front of the car features a glossy black closed grille with a glowing three-pointed star logo and exclusive twin-pod LED headlamps, paired with a thin light bar. A similar light bar is also provided at the rear.

Look and color options

It features flush hood handles that fit inside the doors and 18-inch AMG alloy wheels. This car is available in several colors for the customers. These include Clear Blue, Cosmic Blue, Poppy White, Alpine Gray and Patagonia Red.

Interior and features

The interior of this car is based on the latest design of Mercedes Benz. It has a 10.25-inch driver display and a 14-inch central touchscreen infotainment system. A separate display for the passenger side is also available in international markets. The car gets features like powered and heated front seats with memory function, a fixed panoramic glass roof and automatic climate control. Apart from this, there are premium trim details on the dashboard and center console and touch-sensitive controls on the steering wheel.

Safety features and ratings

For safety, the car gets 6 airbags, 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring and tire pressure monitoring system. Apart from this, it also gets features like level-2 ADAS and electronic parking brake. According to media reports, the electric car has received a 5-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test.

Charger Power and Speed

Mercedes-Benz has launched the CLA 200 variant in the Indian market. This variant offers a range of 542 km once fully charged. The CLA 250+ variant offers a range of up to 792 km on a single charge. This variant has an 85 kWh battery and a rear-mounted electric motor, which produces an estimated 268hp and 335nm of torque. Its battery supports 250 KW DC fast charging, which gives a range of up to 400 km in just 20 minutes. Moreover, this sedan has a special two-speed gearbox, which allows this car to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.7 seconds.
