8th Pay Commission: Technical problems in submitting memorandum, NC-JCM raised demand to extend the deadline.

News India Live, Digital Desk: With the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, there is enthusiasm among the central government employees and pensioners, but currently they are facing a big technical problem. National Council (Staff Side), JCM (Joint Consultative Machinery) has written a letter to the Pay Commission complaining about the technical glitches on the official website. Due to these problems, the employee organizations have demanded to extend the last date for submission of memorandum from 30 April 2026 to 31 May 2026. These 3 main problems are being faced in the website. Employee organizations (NC-JCM and AIDEF) have mentioned the following problems on the portal (8cpc.gov.in) while uploading the memorandum: OTP and reach error: OTP not coming on mobile. When e-mail verification is attempted, an error of “Hmmm… can’t reach this page” appears on the page. HTML tag error: At the last stage of memorandum submission, the message “Invalid input detected. HTML tags are not allowed” is coming, due to which the submission remains incomplete. Limited Response Field: A total of 47 sub-themes/questions are given on the portal, but there is no limit to answer them. Only 18 fields are available for this. Due to this, organizations are facing difficulty in presenting their full views. NC-JCM’s demand: Memorandums should also be accepted through e-mail. NC-JCM Secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra has suggested in a letter to the Member Secretary that till the time the website is completely restored, organizations should be allowed to send memorandum through e-mail in PDF or MS Word format. He said that due to the malfunction of the website, a lot of precious time of the organizations has been wasted, hence it is necessary to extend the deadline by one month. What is the current deadline? At present, the last date for submission of memorandum is visible on the website of the 8th Pay Commission as April 30, 2026 only. However, for those organizations that have sought a personal appointment with the Commission in Delhi or Pune, this date was fixed as April 20, 2026. Now it remains to be seen whether the Commission extends the date in view of the technical shortcomings or not. Major expectations from the 8th Pay Commission (Proposed) Employee organizations are expecting a historic salary increase this time: Minimum salary: Demand to increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 69,000. Fitment factor: Proposal to increase from 2.57 to 3.83. Pension: 67% of last drawn salary (OPS restoration With demand). Pay Matrix: 13 new pay scales have been proposed to simplify the pay structure.
