NIT will strengthen the spirit of unity in diversity: President Draupadi Murmu

Live Hindi News :- President Draupadi Murmu has said that technical institutes like NITs play a vital role in strengthening the spirit of unity in diversity. Addressing the 18th convocation of the Malaviya National Institute of Technology in Jaipur, Rajasthan, President Draupadi Murmu said, “National Institutes of Technology were established to promote quality technical education and research in the country. They play a vital role in providing skilled human resources.” Keeping in view the importance of NITs, they have been given the status of 'Institutes of National Importance'.

About half of the students studying in NITs are from their own state. The remaining half are from other states based on Indian rankings. Thus, while on the one hand this system gives a chance to local talent to flourish, on the other hand it also works to strengthen the country's 'spirit of unity in diversity'. Technical institutes like NITs play an important role in making India a research and innovation hub. The Innovation and Industry Incubator established at Malaviya National Institute of Technology has organized many innovation projects so far. This has benefited a large number of participants. About 125 industrial companies are registered in the Industry Archive of Malaviya National Institute of Technology. These also create new jobs.

This era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution brings challenges as well as new opportunities. The role of our technology companies is crucial in harnessing these opportunities and making India a leader in the technology sector. The establishment of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering at MNIT reflects the commitment to adapt to the needs of the times.

It is a pleasure to know that MNIT has been ranked among the top 50 institutes in the country in the 'Engineering Category' of NIRF's India Rankings 2024. Hope the teachers, students and staff of MNIT will work hard and bring MNIT among the top 10 institutes in the country.

It was heartening to note that out of the 20 gold medals awarded at this convocation, 12 were won by women, despite the fact that only 29 per cent of the graduating students were women. “This proportion of female students among medal winners is proof that if they are given equal opportunities, they can achieve greater excellence,” he said.
