Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan criticizes media for spreading fake news about Wayanad AID memorandum

Latest News :- State Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has accused sections of the media of spreading false news about the memorandum prepared by the Kerala government seeking help from the Central government for the Wayanad landslide disaster, calling it 'disastrous journalism'.

Speaking to the media, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, “Destructive journalism is going on in Kerala. Some sections of the media have become factories of controversy. Kerala government is being disgraced due to fake news. After the spread of such fake information in the media, a false narrative has been created that the Kerala government is trying to seek assistance through unfair means.

Opposition parties also took these statements in stride. The only motive behind these stories is to defame the government. Ministers do not make memorandum when disaster strikes. Rather, it is prepared by professionals who have proven expertise in those fields. The media misinterpreted the information presented by those experts. The data in the memorandums are not exaggerated. Those are planned assessments,” he said.
