Supreme Court grants bail to businessman in Chhattisgarh Mahadev gambling app case

Latest News :- Chhattisgarh-based businessman Sunil Thammani was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in August last year in the Mahadev gambling app case. While he has been in jail for over a year, the Supreme Court granted him bail yesterday. After Chhattisgarh High Court refused to grant bail to Sunil Tammani, he approached the Supreme Court. Supreme Court judge J.P., who heard the appeal. The bench comprising Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra granted him bail yesterday.

Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, hailing from Chhattisgarh, jointly operated a gambling app called Mahadev in the UAE. They have earned a profit of Rs 200 crore daily through this app and are paying huge amount as bribe to political leaders and government officials.

The Enforcement Department has accused him of giving Rs 500 crore to former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Bagal before the state assembly elections. Both of them are said to be related to Dawood Ibrahim organization. Now Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal have been taken into custody by Dubai Police. The enforcement department is trying to bring them to India.
