Latest News :- Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar, who was on a visit to Sri Lanka, met the country's new President Anura Dissanayake and talked about strengthening bilateral relations. In an X-post issued by Jaishankar after this meeting, he said that I am honored to meet Sri Lankan President Anura Dissanayake in Colombo today. I conveyed my hearty greetings to him on behalf of the President of the Republic of India Dravupati Murmu and the Prime Minister. Minister Narendra Modi said that the warmth and guidance of the Sri Lankan President for India-Sri Lanka relations is commendable.

Dissanayake's post on X said, “Delighted to welcome Indian External Affairs Minister Jaishankar, who is on a state visit to Sri Lanka. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in many areas. Jaishankar reaffirmed India's support for Sri Lanka's economic recovery. The importance of continued bilateral cooperation and mutually beneficial matters were discussed.” He said. Subsequently, Jaishankar also met and consulted with Sri Lanka's new Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa, former President Ranil Wickremesinghe and others.
