In the past, Dawood Ibrahim functioned as the grandfather of Mumbai's shadow world. There are many reports that Lawrence Bishnoi will continue his style. The Lawrence gang currently has around 700 members who work as mercenaries internationally. They are also given training in shooting. Investigation has revealed that they are working in 11 countries including Pakistan and Khalistan Movement terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda is using people of Lawrence for his anti-social activities in Pakistan.

Lawrence Bishnoi (30) is a resident of Firozpur, Punjab. Lawrence, the son of a constable from Haryana, studied law from Punjab University. He was active in student council politics during his college days. Then Satinder Singh alias Goldie Brar became a friend. Seven cases of attempt to murder, robbery and kidnapping were registered against the two till 2012. Bishnoi was arrested and put in jail.

After befriending fellow prisoners in jail, he gets released and gets involved in arms smuggling. Then Bishnoi shot and killed Mukhtar who collided with him. Later he got into liquor smuggling and formed a gang under his leadership. Lawrence Bishnoi, who was re-arrested in an encounter with Rajasthan Police in 2014, has also been booked for murder of a key witness in jail.

The Bishnoi community considers animals, including deer, sacred. Due to this, Bishnoi, through his friend Sampat Nehra, also tried to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who was involved in deer hunting case.

Due to Lawrence's international connections, all his cases have been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). On May 29 last year, famous singer Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in Punjab. Hours after the murder, Goldie Brar posted on Facebook that she shot Sidhu with the help of a friend from the Bishnoi gang. Goldie Brar has also been declared a wanted criminal by the Canadian police. Bishnoi's close friend Goldie Brar is currently working from London.

Naresh Shetty, a key member of the Bishnoi gang, was caught by Delhi Police in August last year. During his interrogation, he told that servants are recruited in Bishnoi gang through companies that select people. Shetty also said that they are working in many parts of the country. In this regard, NIA has also filed a charge sheet in the court against Lawrence Gang. Lawrence was shifted from Tihar to Gujarat's Sabarmati jail in August last year due to security reasons. Mumbai Police is trying to interrogate him by taking him into custody.
