Kerala CM says even pilgrims without online registration will get darshan

Latest News :- The annual Mandal and Makara Deepak puja for Kerala's Sabarimala Ayyappan temple is set to begin next month. Devotees who want to visit this temple can already get the darshan and prasad tickets online. At the same time, those who have not made reservations after visiting Sabarimala can get darshan tickets (spot booking) at the centers run by Devasvariyam at specific places.

In this matter, Kerala Devaswom Board Minister VN Vasavan had announced a few days ago that darshan tickets will not be issued this year and only online darshan and prasad tickets will be issued. He also told that arrangements will be made for darshan of all the devotees coming to Sabarimala. Various political parties strongly opposed this.

BJP had warned of protests if the Kerala government did not withdraw its decision to cancel the spot booking system. Similarly, the Congress-led United Democratic Front and the Communist Party of India, part of the ruling Left Front, insisted that the spot booking facility should also continue.

In this matter, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, in response to a question raised by Marxist Communist member V. Joy in the Kerala Assembly yesterday, said that the online booking system for darshan of Swamy in temples including Tirupati is working successfully. This method was introduced in the Sabarimala Ayyappan temple in 2011. The government aims to further strengthen this practice.

A consultation was held in this regard on 5th. To ensure the safety of the devotees, it has been decided to collect complete details of the devotees at the time of booking. This will make it easier for devotees to identify themselves in case of any accident. Like last year, this year also it was decided to provide special facilities to the devotees. Especially the devotees coming to Sabarimala without online reservation will also be provided necessary facilities for the darshan of Ayyappan. He said this. However, Pinarayi Vijayan did not say whether spot booking would be a formality or not.
