3 percent increase in dearness allowance of central government employees

Latest News :- On the occasion of Diwali, dearness allowance of central government employees has been increased by 3 percent. It was approved in the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said this while talking to journalists in Delhi. He further said, the rate increase will be implemented on the basis of July 1, 2024. Due to the increase in advance rate, central government employees and pensioners will get their dues for the months of July, August and September.

This increase is as per the agreement adopted based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission. This decision of the Union Cabinet will benefit more than 1 crore employees and pensioners. As a result of this decision, Rs. It will cost the government an additional Rs 9,448.35 crore. This will benefit 49.18 lakh central government employees and 64.89 lakh pensioners. The subsidy for central government employees and pensioners is already 50%. Now it will be 53%,” he said.
