3 killed, many trapped after under-construction building collapses in Bengaluru

Latest News :- A newly constructed apartment building in Bengaluru collapsed due to heavy rains. Three people died. It has been raining heavily in Bengaluru for the last few days. Water has accumulated in various important parts of the city and it looks like a flood. Drivers are facing problems. According to the Meteorological Department, Yelahanga area has received maximum rainfall of 157 mm in the last 24 hours.

In the same sequence, a newly constructed apartment building in Hennur area collapsed due to heavy rains. 20 laborers working in the building were trapped in the debris. Immediately the fire department and police were informed and officials reached the spot and started the rescue operation. So far 3 bodies have been recovered from the ruins. Officials fear the death toll could rise as the condition of workers trapped under the debris is unknown. Firefighters in two vehicles are still engaged in rescue operations.

It is being told that a total of 20 people including tile installers, concrete makers and plumbers were working in the building. Officials say the investigation revealed that the foundation was weak leading to the accident. CCTV footage of the seven-storey building collapse has gone viral on social media. It is being told that the building has been constructed illegally, whereas only 4 storey buildings are allowed in that area.
