Latest News :- On August 23, two 4-year-old girls studying in a school in Badlapur, Pune, Maharashtra were sexually assaulted by a sanitation worker working there, AK Shai Shinde. The school administration tried to cover up the incident. The police registered an FIR on August 26 after the parents staged a train strike. After this the case was transferred to the Special Investigation Team. Accused Akshay Shinde was killed in a police encounter.

The matter came up for hearing yesterday in a bench of Justices Revati Mohiti Tere and Prithviraj Chavan. At that time, Advocate General Brendar Sarab, appearing on behalf of the government, said that the police investigation report has revealed negligence in duty by an officer. A report in this regard has been sent to the Police Commissioner for further action. During the next hearing of the case, the judges directed to file a report regarding action against the police officers who delayed filing the FIR.
