Latest News :- JMM MLA and Hemant Soran's wife Kalpana Soran filed her nomination papers today (Thursday) to contest elections from Kanth assembly seat of Jharkhand. In a post on his X page, he said, “Today I filed my nomination on behalf of JMM to contest the upcoming assembly elections to serve the people of my Kanth constituency.

Kalpana Soran, wife of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soran, contested and won the by-election from Kande constituency on June 4. He defeated his rival BJP candidate Dilip Kumar Verma by a margin of 27,149 votes. Earlier, by-election was held there after Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed resigned from his post.

Leaders filed nominations: Senior political leaders like state Chief Minister Amar Kumar Pauri of BJP, minister Banna Gupta and former Chief Minister Sambai Soran are planning to file nominations today (Thursday). Sources said that 51 candidates of Congress and BJP will file their nomination papers today.

Jharkhand Assembly elections are to be held in two phases on November 13 and November 20. The counting of votes cast will take place on November 23. Nomination filing for the first phase of voting will begin on October 18 and will close on October 25. Nomination filing for the second phase of voting will begin on October 22 and will close on October 29.
