Latest News :- Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party may use the clock election symbol in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. However, the Supreme Court on Thursday gave permission to file the denial. It has also ordered the NCP (Ajit Pawar) to file a fresh affidavit by November 4 that it will not violate its guidelines. In this regard, the Supreme Court said in its order, 'You (Ajit Pawar's team) will have to file a new affidavit before the date of number 4 that you (Ajit Pawar's team) will not violate our orders till the end of the elections. Don't create trouble for yourself. If we find you violating our instructions, we will initiate our own investigation.

Earlier, Sarath Pawar's team had filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding a ban on Ajit Pawar's team from using the party's election symbol clock in the elections. The Supreme Court heard the petition and issued the order. Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, who appeared for the Sarath Pawar-led team during the trial, said, “Ajit Pawar's team does not issue any disclaimer in the election campaign posters. He alleged, “The opposition wants to go with Sharad Pawar just to get votes.

He further said that he is not a member of Sarath Pawar's team. This court has very clearly ordered to put a disclaimer on the posters that you are completely Ajit Pawar's team. No such disclaimer has been posted from their side. The intention here is clear. Riding on our backs.” He admits that Ajit Bawre is like his father. Even in the Lok Sabha Secretariat, there is a sub-committee comprising both factions of the NCP. They (Ajit Pawar's team) are breaking their promise. Don't let the clock tick for both of us. Give them some other symbol. “While the matter is pending, no one should get the benefit of the logo.”

Meanwhile, senior advocate Balbir Singh, appearing for Ajit Pawar, said that his side will comply with all the orders of the court. He said, “They (Sharath Pawar's team) are using fake documents. They are trying their luck again. I am ready to file leaflets and posters that will be used in the field. The Supreme Court adjourned the hearing till 4 November. Earlier this year, the Election Commission of India had allotted the election symbol of Clock to Ajit Pawar's team as the Nationalist Congress Party was divided into two factions.

Last year, Ajit Pawar had rebelled against Sarath Pawar and joined the Mahayudi alliance with supporting MLAs. Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Sharad Pawar's team was renamed Nationalist Congress Party – Sharad Pawar and given the image of a man blowing a trumpet as its election symbol. However, it is noteworthy that Ajit Pawar's team had also ordered that the photo in Sharad Pawar's name should not be used for political gains.
