Latest News :- BJP has made former MLC Yogeshwar the Congress candidate in Karnataka's Chennapatna by-election. Union Minister Kumaraswamy's son Nikhil has been declared the candidate of BJP-MJD alliance. Due to this, the field of Chennapatna by-election has become heated. Former Chief Minister Kumaraswamy contested and won the 2023 Legislative Assembly elections from Chennapatna constituency. He had resigned from his MLA post after contesting and winning the last Lok Sabha elections. As a result, a by-election for the Chennapatna constituency was announced on 13 November.

Kumaraswamy, who became a Union minister in the BJP alliance, has decided to field his son Nikhil from Chennapatna constituency. BJP MLC CP Yogeshwar objected to this. He also announced that he would contest as an independent candidate if Senapatna constituency is allotted to MJD. Top BJP leaders did not accept this and handed over the constituency to Kumaraswamy. Subsequently, Nikhil was announced as the candidate of the BJP-MJD alliance.

In such a situation, Deputy Chief Minister TK Shivakumar himself has announced that he will contest that seat on behalf of Congress. Similarly, it was also said that his brother TK Suresh, who failed in the last Lok Sabha elections, is contesting the elections. Meanwhile, Congress MLC C.P. Yogeshwar was declared the candidate, who had contested on behalf of BJP in the last election and had lost, when no one expected it.

Subsequently, he served as an MLC in BJP. He resigned from the post. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru yesterday and joined the Congress. As a result, the Senapatna by-election ground was divided between Kumaraswamy and D.K. Went to. This has become a direct confrontation between Shiv Kumar.
