Latest News :- The Congress party has said that it cannot accept the BJP's allegation that Mallikarjun Kharge was kept outside the chamber when Priyanka Gandhi filed a petition for the Wayanad by-election. Congress Party Secretary Venugopal told the news agency, “The door of that room was closed, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and others waited for some time before entering the room. How can BJP spread such lies? When we reached the Collector's office after the meeting, the door of the room was closed. Then came Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. He also waited for some time before entering the room.

Just then Mallikarjun Karge came and even then the door was closed so he kept waiting outside for some time. Kharge was also present while filing nomination papers. BJP always keeps targeting Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Why are they spreading such lies against the Congress leader and the party? This cannot be accepted. He said. Earlier, BJP spokesperson C.R. Kesavan said on Thursday that the brutal manner in which Mallikarjun Kharge was humiliated is shocking. It was sad to see that the Congress Party treated a senior Dalit leader like him so despicably and humiliatingly.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma had accused the Congress party of maintaining untouchability. He said, “Rahul Gandhi has been saying that the Congress Party supports the Dalits and gives them equal contribution. But Dalits are despised within the party. We saw what happened to Mallikarjuna Cage yesterday. After this there is nothing to tell people. Congress party was exposed. Dalits are humiliated within the party and treated like third class citizens. He said untouchability is seen.

Priyanka Gandhi, contesting in the Wayanad by-election, filed her nomination papers with the Kalpeta District Collector on Wednesday. Before this he and Rahul Gandhi did a huge road show. Rahul Gandhi, who is contesting from Wayanad and Rae Bareli constituencies in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, later resigned as Wayanad MP. Thus the block was declared vacant. By-elections for Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency will be held on November 13.
