Odisha State Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari said yesterday: 1,671 gram panchayats in 14 districts of Odisha have been seriously affected by the heavy rains caused by Cyclone Dana. 35.95 lakh people of this area have been affected. 8.1 lakh people were evacuated from low-lying areas and accommodated in 6,210 relief camps. They were provided basic amenities including food and drinking water. At the same time, no one has died due to the storm.

As the floods have subsided, people living in relief camps are returning to their homes. As of today (yesterday) morning, people are living in 1,178 camps. People living in other camps have returned home. Kendrapara, Balasur and Bhatrak districts are the most affected. 5,840 houses were completely or partially damaged due to the storm and floods. Adequate relief will be provided to those who have lost their homes. Also, steps will be taken to find a permanent solution to this problem. Especially in coastal areas, terraced houses will be built instead of terraced houses. He said this.
