Modi said emotionally, “If the best son of this country, Ratan Tata, had been alive, he would have been happy to see this program.” Thousands of people will get employment from this factory. He also said that more focus will be given to making India an aircraft manufacturing hub.
The Indian Air Force's fleet of Euro-748 transport aircraft has become obsolete. After this, India signed an agreement with Airbus Defense Company to purchase 56 C-295 military aircraft for Rs 21 thousand crore in 2021. According to this, 16 aircraft will be manufactured in Spain's Airbus factory and delivered to India in 4 years. It was decided that 40 aircraft would be manufactured in India.
Groundbreaking in 2022: The responsibility of manufacturing these aircraft in India has been entrusted to Tata Advanced Systems, a subsidiary of Tata Group. It was decided to set up the factory in Vadodara, Gujarat. Prime Minister Modi laid its foundation stone in October 2022. The construction of the country's first private military factory was recently completed.
In such a situation, Prime Minister Modi yesterday inaugurated the military aircraft factory of Tata Advanced Systems in Vadodara along with Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who was visiting India. At that time Prime Minister Modi had said, my friend Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has come to India for the first time. We have jointly opened a factory to manufacture C-295 military aircraft. It will strengthen India-Spain relations and promote the 'Make in India, Make for the World' initiative. In future, military aircraft manufactured here will also be exported to foreign countries.
This factory reflects the new work culture of the new India. Ratan Tata, the great son of this country, passed away recently. Had he been alive, he would have been happy to see this incident. Thousands of people will get employment from this factory. More emphasis will be given on making India an aircraft manufacturing hub. Prime Minister Modi said this.
“The first flight will be ready in 2026,” Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said. Later, Prime Minister Modi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez visited Lakshmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara. There, representatives from both sides held talks under the leadership of the two leaders over lunch. Discussions were held to further strengthen bilateral relations. Besides, MoUs were also signed on infrastructure, rail transport, culture and tourism.
Launch of projects worth Rs 4,800 crore: From there PM Modi went to Amreli and inaugurated Bharat Mata Sarovar Dam. After this, in a program organized there, he launched projects worth a total of Rs 4,800 crore and laid the foundation stone of some projects.
