Latest News :- Census will start across the country next year. Central government sources said that based on this, constituencies will be redefined in the coming year 2028. The census was started in the year 1881 during the British rule. The census is conducted every 10 years. According to this, a survey was conducted in the year 2011. After this, census should have been conducted in the year 2021. But due to various reasons it has been delayed by about 4 years. In this connection, census work will be started across the country in January next year. Based on this, there are reports that constituencies will be redefined in the coming year 2028.

Central government sources said: The census will be started in January 2025. This time the survey can be done through mobile app. More than 30 lakh government employees will be involved in the survey work. The process of census work lasts for about 2 years. A special commission will be constituted by the Central Government in the upcoming year 2026 to redefine the Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies. The special commission will redefine constituencies based on the census starting next year.

The law to give 33 percent reservation to women was passed in Parliament in September last year. According to this, constituencies will be allotted to girls during the re-delimitation of constituencies. The work of redefinition of constituencies will be completed by 2028. Opposition parties have been insisting that caste-wise census should also be conducted during the census. No decision has been taken yet in this regard. According to the last census of 2011, there are 2,650 castes across the country. Central government sources said this. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh has said in a social media post that the census should have been conducted in the year 2021. But the central government is deliberately delaying.

It seems that the census will be started soon. The central government has not clarified whether caste-wise census will be conducted during this survey or not. States with better implementation of family planning have seen population decline. The central government has not yet given any clarification on whether those states will be affected during the re-delimitation of constituencies. Therefore, before conducting the census, a meeting of all parties should be called by the Central Government. The Central Government should also give proper clarification to the doubts of national and regional parties. Jairam Ramesh said this.
