Air pollution level increases in Delhi before Diwali, eight stations in red zone

Latest News :- Ahead of Diwali celebrations, the national capital witnessed a significant rise in air pollution levels on Wednesday. Air quality was reported as very poor at eight monitoring stations. Delhi's overall air quality index at 9 am on Wednesday was 278. Last day it was 268. However, the city's overall air quality remains poor. The air quality, which had been extremely poor for the past few days, improved slightly on Tuesday due to strong winds. The air quality was 304 on Monday and 359 on Sunday.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board, out of 36 monitoring centres, the air quality was very poor at eight locations – Anand Vihar, Ashok Vihar, Aya Nagar, Bhawana, Jahangirpuri, Mundka, Vivek Vihar and Washirpur. Meanwhile, the temperature has not yet dropped. The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 21 degrees Celsius, which is 4.9 degrees above normal. The humidity at 8 am was 83 percent.
