Latest News :- Mallikarjun Kharge has said that he has emphasized to the Maharashtra Congress leaders that election promises should be made only according to the financial resources of the state. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge met the press in Bengaluru along with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar. At that time he had said, “I have warned the state Congress leaders not to make too many promises in the Maharashtra Assembly elections despite their financial resources. Make only as many promises as you can keep.

I have said do not declare 5, 6, 10 or 20 guarantees. Guarantee should be declared depending on the source of funds. Otherwise bankruptcy will occur. If there is no money to build roads then everyone will turn against you. If the government fails then the name of the coming generations will be tarnished. Kharge said this when the Congress government is considering withdrawing the free bus travel scheme for women in Karnataka.

Responding to a question regarding Prime Minister Modi's statement about steps being taken to implement the One Nation One Election scheme, Mallikarjun Kharge said that the scheme cannot be implemented without consensus in Parliament. This scheme cannot be implemented without the confidence of the Members of Parliament. “There is no possibility that a country will implement the same election plan,” he said.
