Elderly man dies due to elephant attack in MP, death of 10 elephants in the same forest area creates panic

Latest News :- An elderly man was killed by a wild elephant outside Bandawargarh Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh. This incident is happening in that area since 29th and till now 10 elephants have died. The deceased, who was attacked by an elephant, has been identified as Ramratan Yadav (62). Today (Saturday) morning, wild elephants killed an old man who had gone outside the reserve forest for a nap, an official of the Bandawargarh Tiger Reserve said.
Confirming the incident, Umaria Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Vivek Singh said 10 elephants died in Bandhawargarh Tiger Reserve in three days earlier this week. On Tuesday, four elephants were found dead in Sanhani and Bageli areas under Kidoli area of the sanctuary. Meanwhile, four elephants died on Wednesday and two on Thursday. Out of a family of 13 elephants, only 3 elephants are alive now. He said.
When asked whether the surviving elephants in the herd had attacked the old man, he said I cannot say for sure. This will be known only after investigation. Another official of Bandawargarh Tiger Reserve said, “The remaining three elephants of the elephant family are moving towards the forest area of Katni district. This move is unusual. This has not happened before in Bandawargarh Tiger Reserve. He said. Meanwhile, the post-mortem of 10 dead elephants has been completed. While the postmortem of 9 elephants was done on October 31, the postmortem of the remaining elephants was completed yesterday (November 1).
