Latest News :- The 14th Hockey India Federation Men's Senior National Championship will begin on November 4 at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium in Egmore, Chennai. 31 teams will participate in this series which will run till 16th. These are divided into 8 sections. In the 'A' category, there are 3 teams, defending champions Punjab, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, Chhattisgarh. Haryana, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh and Mizoram are in 'B' group and Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar are in 'C' group.
Karnataka, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand and Tripura in Group 'D', Odisha, Puducherry, Rajasthan and Arunachal Pradesh in Group 'E', Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir in Group 'F' and Jharkhand in Group 'G'. Teams from Maharashtra', Goa and Gujarat and teams from Manipur, Bengal, Bihar and Assam are in 'H' category.
In the league round, each team will face the other teams placed in its division once. The top team of each division will advance to the quarter-finals. A total of 45 matches are played in the league round. In the opening match of the series on 4th at 7 am, the teams of Uttar Pradesh and Kerala, placed in 'F' category, will face a tough test.
Series hosts Tamil Nadu will face Andhra Pradesh at 3.45 pm. Tamil Nadu will face Madhya Pradesh in its second match on 5th and Andaman and Nicobar in the last league match on 7th. Defending champion and four-time trophy winner Punjab will play a multi-Test match against Chhattisgarh on 5th.
League matches will end on 11th. 12th is a day of rest. After this the quarter finals will be held on 13th. After this, after a break of one day, the semi-finals will be played on 15th. The final match to decide the champion will be held on the 16th at 4 pm. Before this, the third place match will be held at 2 pm in the day.

Out of the 13 series held so far in the Hockey Senior National Championship, the Tamil Nadu team has stood second in 2022 and third in 2023.
