In this regard, security force officials said, we received secret intelligence that the main commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba from Pakistan, Usman, is hiding in Kanyar area of ​​Srinagar. Residential areas in that area are densely populated areas. In such a situation, searching there was a very difficult task.

Nine hours of precise planning was required to minimize losses and record victory. However, stray dogs in residential areas posed a major challenge to the search operation. Because dogs barking at unusual human activities will alert the terrorists and they will easily escape. To deal with this problem, as soon as the search team reached the area, they took packets of biscuits in their hands to appease the dogs.

They used to throw biscuits at the dogs to stop them from barking. Security forces surrounded Usman's house for about 30 minutes and attacked with AK-47 and grenades. Usman was shot dead at the end of a prolonged exchange of fire between the two sides. 4 security personnel were injured and admitted to hospital.
