Latest News :- Priyanka Gandhi Vadera said during the election campaign in Wayanad parliamentary constituency that hatred and anger in the country are spread only by those who want to remain in power. He also criticized the BJP for politicizing a disaster that had caused so much pain and suffering to the people.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadera, contesting on behalf of Congress in Kerala's Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election, today engaged in intensive election campaign in Bulbali, Kenichira, Padichira, Mutil of the constituency. Mahatma Gandhi visited and interacted with the workers of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme at their workplaces.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said during the election campaign that Rahul Gandhi and I have seen a lot of horrific and painful incidents in different parts of the country. However, the devastation in Wayanad shocked us. The BJP also politicized the disaster which caused so much pain and suffering to the people.
I met a woman my daughter's age, a grandmother who lost her entire family, and a 13-year-old boy who lost all his friends. Rahul and I were amazed to see how you all came together to help each other. No one asked who belonged to which religion. Everyone tried their best. It's truly amazing what a community can accomplish when it comes together. Your spirit of unity is a shining example; Pride of every Indian. Most importantly, you are a shining example of India's unity.
There are beautiful temples, churches and mosques here. All religions live in peace. These qualities become important at a time when the country is surrounded by hatred and anger spread by those who want to remain in power. However, you are an example of what this nation truly stands for. I hope that I will be able to represent such great people in Parliament.
When I visited various places in Wayanad, I came to know about the countless problems and struggles that you face every day. Inflation, unemployment, useless government policies, all these are hindrances in your development. It is challenging to educate our children due to inflation. There is also shortage of water. To promote all types of tourism and show the beauty of Wayanad to the world you need strong infrastructure.
Pressure should be put on the government to solve the problems of medical college, human-animal conflict, night traffic etc. We need a vision for the future of Wayanad. The crops and products you produce need proper marketing strategies. All aspects of Wayanad should be improved by strengthening the existing resources.
My goal is to better understand the issues of Wayanad and develop a strong plan for a permanent solution. I promise that I will put pressure on the government to provide you the necessary facilities.”
