Singaporean logistics firm Ninja Van has paused operations at ECRM Nobita, its subsidiary in Vietnam, to sort out issues of delayed salary and social insurance payments.

Ninja Van co-founder Tan Boxian said the firm plans to fix the issue by the end of next week, The Straits Times reported early Friday.

He said: “As the owners of ECRM Nobita, we will honor our obligations and do right by the employees. When we were told by ECRM Nobita’s employees that they had not been paid, we immediately stepped in. The employees have worked hard and deserve to be paid on time in full.”

By noon on Friday, a Ninja Van representative informed Bloomberg News that the overdue salaries had been processed and would be transferred to employees’ bank accounts immediately.

ECRM Nobita develops software solutions for customer relationship management for online businesses and has offices in HCMC, Hanoi, and Nghe An Province’s Vinh City.

Ninja Van said the subsidiary’s business is separate from those of its parent company.

Employees at the firm previously reported that the company has not paid their salaries in full and has not been making social insurance contributions on time since July, as reported by Vietnamese newspaper Labor Online.

They said the delayed payments have heavily impacted their lives and mental health.

A team leader at ECRM Nobita said over 100 employees across all departments and positions were impacted.

Ninja Van’s spokesperson noted the firm will continue to review the overall situation with its subsidiary.
