New Delhi:- The central government had announced to provide health cover of Rs 5 lakh to senior citizens above the age of 70 years. Now Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda has informed that the families covered under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme will also be given a top-up cover of Rs 5 lakh for senior citizens.

JP Nadda said that the senior citizens of the age of 70+ years of the family who are being given Ayushman Bharat cover of Rs 5 lakh will be given an additional cover of Rs 5 lakh. He said that the government will issue a different type of card for such senior citizens, so that they can be identified separately from Ayushman Bharat Family Card and Senior Citizen Card. He said that we will launch this card in October
