New Delhi: Ever since the announcement, excitement on social media about the India release of The Legend Of Maula Jatt has reached unprecedented heights. It was revealed that the Pakistani film, directed by Bilal Lashari, is scheduled for release in India on October 2, 2024. However, it turns out the action drama will only have a limited release in the country.
Karachi-based film producer Nadeem Mandviwalla recently informed IndiaToday.in that the much-talked-about film will not be released in cinemas across the nation. Instead, it will only be shown in theatres in Punjab.
He stated that hopes are high for The Legend Of Maula Jatt to do well in India, as it is not yet available on streaming platforms. Nadeem added that word of mouth will play a significant role in drawing large crowds to cinemas.

A source also told the media outlet that if the film performs well at the Box Office in Punjab, it might see a wider release in other cities. The decision to release the film in the Punjab region was made to avoid any controversies.
The Legend of Maula Jatt star cast
For the uninitiated, The Legend of Maula Jatt stars Fawad Khan in the titular role. The 42-year-old actor already enjoys a massive fan base in India, having appeared in several Bollywood films such as Khoobsurat and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
The film also features Mahira Khan, Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malik, Gohar Rasheed, Faris Shafi, Shafqat Cheema, Saima Baloch, Nayyer Ejaz and Ali Azmat. It was released in Pakistan on October 13, 2022.
