Himachal Pradesh Chief Justice MS Ramachandra Rao became the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court. Chief Justices have been appointed in many states.

Eight judges were appointed

1. Manmohan
Appointed as Acting Chief Justice of Delhi High Court.

2. Rajiv Shakdhar
Appointed as Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court.

3. Suresh Kumar Kait
Appointed as Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court.

4. Indra Prasanna Mukherjee
Appointed as Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court.

5. Nitin Madhukar Jamdar
Appointed as Chief Justice of Kerala High Court.

6. Tashi Rabastan
Appointed as Chief Justice of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh High Court.

7. Sriram Kalpathi Rajendran
Appointed as Chief Justice of Madras High Court.

8. Shri Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao
Transferred as Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court.

Who is Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao

Justice Mamidanna Satya Ratna Ramachandra Rao was born on 7 August 1966 in Hyderabad. He pursued B.Sc. (Hons.) (Mathematics) from Bhavan's New Science College, Osmania University, where he stood first in the University in his course. He then passed the LL.B. examination from the Law College, Osmania University in 1989 and was awarded the CVSS Acharyulu Gold Medal for securing the highest marks in the final year.

He received his ALM degree from Cambridge

He enrolled as an advocate on 7 September 1989 and obtained LL.M from University of Cambridge, UK in 1991. Justice Rao's father Justice M. Jagannadha Rao was a judge of the Supreme Court of India between 1997-2000 and also the chairman of the Law Commission of India. His grandfather M.S. Ramachandra Rao was also a judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court between 1960-1961.

Became Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court

Justice Ramachandra Rao was elevated as Additional Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on 29 June 2012 and assumed charge as a permanent Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on 4 December 2013. Subsequently, he was appointed to discharge the functions of Chief Justice of Telangana High Court with effect from 31 August 2021.

Punjab and Haryana High Court and Himachal Pradesh High Court

On 12 October 2021, he was transferred to the Punjab and Haryana High Court, where he served until 29 May 2023. On 30 May 2023, he was sworn in as Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, an elevation from the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
