Who turned down role in Chennai Express with Shah Rukh Khan?

South Indian actress Nayanthara, one of the highest-paid actresses in India reportedly declined the chance to work with Bollywood’s King Khan.

According to Indian media, Nayanthara is a successful actress in the Tamil film industry. She was offered a role in the film Chennai Express starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone including a special appearance in the popular song “One, Two, Three, Four” which she ultimately rejected.

Media reports suggest that Nayanthara declined the offer due to personal reasons. She had recently broken up with Indian choreographer and film director Prabhu Deva whose brother, Raju was choreographing the song for the film which influenced her decision.

However, it is noted that Nayanthara later showcased her acting skills alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the 2023 film Jawan which achieved significant box office success.
