New Delhi: After dominating the silver screen with iconic blockbusters, Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar is now set to make waves in the world of OTT. The 52-year-old director is reportedly gearing up for his directorial debut on a streaming platform with a highly anticipated web series.
The upcoming show is said to be his passion project. If social media buzz is to be believed, it will feature a star-studded ensemble of celebrated female actors. Karan has teamed up with Netflix and has already started working extensively on the project with his team.
Sources reveal that Karan is incredibly excited about the series, which is currently in the casting stage. It aims to bring together an ensemble of renowned actors. Some are even calling it Netflix’s most ambitious project to date.
The web series is expected to start production in 2025 and is likely to stream in 2026. However, there has been no official confirmation about the same so far. Once the series is completed, Karan plans to return to the big screen with a grand action film.
Karan Johar to host The Traitors
For the unversed, Karan is currently filming the Indian adaptation of the popular reality show The Traitors, as the host, for Prime Video. The game show will feature 20 celebrities competing for a cash jackpot at a royal palace. A few participants will be designated as traitors, who were chosen secretly by the host at the inception of the show. The Traitors has been adapted in over 20 countries. It will premiere on the OTT giant in English.
