6. Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon

7. Red chili powder – 1 teaspoon

8. Coriander powder – 1 tsp

9. Garam masala – 1/2 teaspoon

10. Mustard seeds – 1/2 teaspoon

11. Curry leaves – 8-10 leaves

12. Oil – 2 tsp

13. Salt – according to taste

14. Water – 1 cup

15. Green coriander – for garnishing

Method:

1. Prepare the fish: First of all, apply turmeric and salt to the fish pieces and keep aside for 15-20 minutes. This gives a mild flavour to the fish and eliminates its raw smell.

2. Prepare the masala: Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When they crackle, add curry leaves and finely chopped onions. Fry the onions until golden brown. After this, add garlic-ginger paste and fry for 2-3 minutes.

3. Add tomatoes and spices: Now add chopped tomatoes and cook till they become soft. After this add turmeric, red chili, coriander powder and garam masala and fry the spices till they release oil.

4. Add fish: Add the fish pieces to the masala and mix gently so that the fish does not break. Allow the fish to cook well with the masala for 3-4 minutes.

5. Add coconut milk and water: Now add coconut milk and 1 cup water and let the curry cook on low flame for 10-15 minutes, so that the fish becomes soft and all the spices get infused in it.

6. Garnish: Once the curry is ready, garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot.
