Bitter gourd chips recipe: sweet and sour chips made from bitter gourd

Ingredients

2 large bitter gourd

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 teaspoon red chili powder

1/2 tsp Chat Masala

1/2 tsp amchur powder (dried mango powder)

1 teaspoon sugar or jaggery powder (according to taste)

Salt to taste

1-2 tbsp oil (for baking)

Fresh lemon juice (to taste)

Method 1

First of all, wash the bitter gourd thoroughly and cut it into thin slices. If you want to reduce the bitterness, apply salt on it and leave it for 20-30 minutes. After this, wash it with water and remove the excess water.

Now to prepare the masala, mix turmeric, red chili powder, chaat masala, dry mango powder and sugar or jaggery powder well in a bowl. Add bitter gourd slices to this mixture and mix well so that the spices are well coated on all the slices.

Now preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Spread the bitter gourd slices on a baking tray and drizzle some oil. Place the tray in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, until the chips are crisp and golden. Check in between and turn if necessary.

Once the chips are baked, take out the bitter gourd chips and let them cool slightly. Delicious bitter gourd chips are ready. Now sprinkle lemon juice on top and serve immediately.
