New Delhi: K-pop fans were left buzzing with excitement when G-DRAGON made a special appearance at IU’s HEREH World Tour closing concert in Seoul on Saturday (September 21). The final show, held at the iconic Seoul World Cup Stadium, marked the end of IU’s successful global tour, which had spanned across Japan, Taiwan, the USA, Thailand, England, and more.

The concert was a star-studded affair, with many top-tier celebrities in attendance, including TXT’s Soobin and Beomgyu, Stray Kids’ Seungmin, and RIIZE’s Anton. However, the spotlight truly shined when BIGBANG’s G-DRAGON, also known as Kwon Ji-young, showed up to support IU. Fans were sent into a frenzy when G-DRAGON shared a photo of him and IU on his Instagram story, igniting rumours and excitement about a potential collaboration between the two K-pop legends.

The internet was buzzing after the photo surfaced, with fans across social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) expressing their excitement. Some called the duo the “King and Queen of K-pop,” while others reminisced about their past collaboration on the hit song Palette from 2017.

“This is such an iconic pairing! G-DRAGON and IU together is a dream,” one fan wrote. Another commented, “The King and Queen of K-pop in one pic—bow down!” Fans couldn’t help but speculate about a possible new project, with one user posting, “What are these two cooking up for us in 2024?”

Others were just thrilled to see their bond, with one fan gushing, “G-DRAGON went to IU’s concert, oh lord, my Palette duo!” The requests for another collaboration between the two artists came pouring in, with many hoping this public reunion could signal more music together.

About G-Dragon and IU

G-DRAGON, 36, made his debut with BIGBANG in 2006 and quickly became known as the “King of K-pop.” After parting ways with YG Entertainment in 2023, he joined Galaxy Corporation to continue his solo career.

IU, 31, debuted in 2007 under LOEN Entertainment and has since become one of South Korea’s most beloved singers and actresses.
