Double lane road will be built till Old Lipu in two years, Kailash Mansarovar Darshan will be easy

The journey to the world famous Kailash Mansarovar will now become easier. For this, a two-lane road is going to be built till Old Lipu on the China border. The construction of this 58 kilometer long road will be completed in two years. While this will make transportation easier, it will also strengthen the strategic point of view and make the economic development of the region possible. Rs 384 crore has also been approved for this.

Talking to journalists at the Circuit House on Friday, Union Minister of State for Road Transport Ajay Tamta said that construction of road up to the China border is also important from a strategic point of view. This will increase employment opportunities for the local people along with connectivity up to the China border. It will promote social and economic development in the region.

Many people were not able to travel due to the difficult route. When the road is widened till the China border, everyone will be able to visit Kailash Mansarovar easily. Until the direct journey to Kailash Mansarovar starts, India plans to provide darshan from Old Lipu.

100 days achievements

Giving information about the 100 days of the Central Government, which is important for the development of Uttarakhand, Tamta said that the high-powered committee constituted by the Supreme Court has given the green signal for the construction of a national highway connecting Kedarnath and Yamunotri under the Chardham project in the state. This will enable two-lane widening work in 25.08 km in Yamunotri.

Apart from this, the remaining 13 kilometers in Kedarnath will also be widened. The work of Champawat bypass is to be done under this Chardham project. This is a project worth 307 crores. Rs 1414 crore has been set for the Rishikesh bypass four lane of 10.88 kilometers length. DPR is being prepared for this.

At the same time, work has been allotted for repair work in the landslide prone areas on the Chardham route. He said that the Road Transport Ministry has approved a new project of 215 km at a cost of Rs 5000 crore. This includes expansion of roads in Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
