Shubman Gill equaled Tendulkar and Kohli's unique record by scoring a century, this happened for the third time in 50 years

Indian batsman Shubman Gill scored a brilliant century in the second innings of the first Test against Bangladesh at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Batting at number 3, he scored an unbeaten 119 runs in 176 balls with the help of 10 fours and 4 sixes. This is Gill's fifth century in Test cricket. He was out on 0 in the first innings of this match.

In Indian Test history, this is only the third time in the last 50 years in a home match that a player has scored a century in the second innings after being out at 0 in the first.

Earlier in 1999, Sachin Tendulkar had scored 136 runs after being out at 0 in the first innings against Pakistan in Chennai. Apart from this, in 2017, he played an unbeaten innings of 104 runs against Kolkata in Sri Lanka after being out at 0 in the first innings.

Apart from Gill, Rishabh Pant scored 109 runs in 128 balls in the second innings for India. Due to which the Indian team declared the second innings at 287 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Due to the lead of 227 runs in the first innings, the Indian team has given a huge target of 515 runs to Bangladesh to win in this match.

After being invited to bat first, they got off to a bad start but Indian Team Bangladesh had scored 376 runs in the first innings, in which apart from Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja scored 86 runs and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 56 runs. In response to which Bangladesh team was all out for 149 runs in the first innings.
