Many roads closed due to landslides after rain, traffic closed for 9 days on Narendranagar-Gujarada road

Due to continuous rain in Uttarakhand, traffic has been closed on many roads. The administration is working to open the closed roads, but bad weather is becoming an obstacle. Gujrada Road connecting Narendranagar to Dehradun-Rishikesh road has been closed for nine days.

The collapse of the security wall in a patch of about 150 meters at kilometer eight of the road has created a landslide zone, which has created a danger to life and property while traveling here. The road has been closed for mountain cutting and road repair work.

According to the Narendranagar division of PWD, a part of the road along with the safety wall has collapsed into the ditch. Being a landslide zone, a safety wall cannot be built in this patch, due to which the road is being built here by cutting the mountain.

Mountain cutting and road construction work is being done from disaster fund. Gujrada road has been closed till 28th September for repairs. AE Gaurav Juyal said that during the repair work on the road, vehicles will now be able to come and go from Narendranagar via Rishikesh. This work is being done on the orders of DM Tehri Mayur Dixit from the security point of view.
